Hello one and all,

does anyone have any info. on Lancaster ED536, which was with No. 1667 H.C.U. in late 1944/early 1945.

Any manufacturing details and info. on squadrons that it served with would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

RodM

G'day Rod

Avro Lancaster ED536 was a B.Mk.III. It was ordered in 1940 to Air Ministry Specification under Contract No.B69274/40. ED536 was built by the parent company A.V. Roe and Co. Limited at Newton Heath, Manchester to Works Order No.7671.

That's about all I have for now.

Cheers...Chris

From Harry Holmes' book;"Avro Lancaster-The Definitive Record",comes the following info:

ED536-Mk III-100 Sqn Jan-Oct-43-550 Sqn-1 LFS-1667 CU-Scrapped -47.

With 100 Sqn,it was coded HW-O and HW-W.550 Sqn codes unknown. Also unknown codes with 1 Lanc. Finishing School and the CU.

Thanks Guys,

I can only add that ED536 was coded "O" while at No. 1667 H.C.U. in Jan/Feb 945. The Conversion unit code I am not 100% certain of as they don't appear in the photo concerned.

Cheers

Rod
