You can also ask Andrew Whitmarsh to send you a copy of RAF Form 78, this will give details of the aircrafts history from factory to loss. Hope you manage to get through to him.

Lancaster s/n ED503 was a B.Mk.III built at the parent company's facility (Newton Heath, Manchester) to Air Ministry Specification under Contract No.B69274/40 and Works Order No.7671.

That should of course be joined 9 Squadron 23.01.1943, and not 1944. Sorry.
