Does anyone have details on the loss of this Airman?

He was killed on 24 Feb 1942, He was attached to 56 Squadron at the time. I believe that the unit flew typhoons at the time. He is remembered on the Runnymede memorial Panel 155.

His details may be in one of the volumes on "Fighter Command Losses", so if anyone has access to a copy I would be grateful for some details. This request is for a relation of his, who is a member of the local militaria society with me here in Morecambe.

Thanks

Al

Hi,

I think that you are looking for the loss of Typhoon Ib, DN411, which spun into the sea off Winterton on Sea, Norfolk, on 24th Feb 1943.

This loss is not recorded in Franks.

Regards

Ross
