Hello One & All,

does anyone know what the following abreviation stands for and where it was located:

No. 27 Wing A.C.C. 7/42

The location appears to be L**chlow - it cannot be reas proerly on the Record of Service sheet.

Thanks

Hi Rod

A.C.C. stands for Army Co-operation Command.

No.27 Wing was formed during the Great War and later disbanded on the 1st of April 1919. It was reformed in 1946 as No.27 Maritime Strike Wing.

Could it be No.37 (Army Co-operation) Wing by any chance ?

Cheers...Chris

Thanks Chris & Scott,

it is definitely No. "27 Wing A.C.C." and the location I have deciphered as Ludlow. This posting occurred for a u/t pilot after arriving at the A.C.R.C. (presumedly at Lord's)and and lasted for one month before a posting to an Initial Training Wing.

Thanks

Rod
