Can anyone help with war service of a Peter W. Cod(d) of 178 squadron believed to have flown in Italy around the middle of 1945? Possible?? relative

Hi Alan

No. 178 (B) Squadron operated the Consolidated Liberator B. Mk. VI at Amendola, Italy from the 4th of July 1944 to the 25th of August 1945. In August 1945, it sent a detachment of aircraft and personnel to Ein Shemer, Palestine. The squadron re-located in its entirety to Ein Shemer in September 1945.
