Hi,

I am looking for the names of the pilots/gunners that were involved in two collisions. All the aircraft were from 23 Squadron;

K1951 collided in formation in cloud with K1954 near Kenley. Both aircraft landed okay, 27/8/31.

K5712 collided with K5730 on formation and abandoned, Barholm, near Stamford, 3/11/38. K5730 was abandoned near Uffignton, Lins, one of the crew was killed.

Thanks,

Alex

Hi Alex,

I have pilot of K5730 as P/O Arthur Edward Slocombe was the sole occupant and was unhurt

Sgt Jack Arnold Bullard was the pilot of the K5712.

A/C.I Harold Roy Lee lost his life as the result of a collision and was in this aircraft.

Regards,

Alan.

Alex,

From p430 of 'Flight' for 10 Nov 38:

"A/C.I Harold Roy Lee lost his life as the result of a collison in the air which occurred near Uffington, Lincs, on November 3 between two aircraft of No.23 (Fighter) Squadron, Wittering, Northants. Sgt Jack Arnold Bullard was the pilot and A/C.I Lee was the occupant of one aircraft and P/O. Arthur Edward Slocombe was the pilot and sole occupant of the other aircraft. The two pilots were not injured."
