I found some information about 258 squadrons involvement in Cirkus 14 on Tony Wood's Combat Claims & Casualties Lists. Unfortunately the names of the pilots who made claims are missing. Can anyone give me some information about these pilots?

258 Squadron made following claims against German Bf 109F on 16.06.41: 2 destroyed, 1 probably destroyed and 2 damaged NW Boulogne

Claims were also made on 08.07.41 (one Bf 109E damaged over Lens) and 31.07.41 (one Do 17 damaged East Lowestoft)

Regards

Peter

Marshall and McAllister were members of the RNZAF

H Dobbyn was actually H A Dobbyn, a New Zealander in the RAF, as was Bush

'Sharpe' should read Sharp, also a New Zealander in the RAF

'Hutchinson' is almost certainly a typo for J R Hutcheson, a member of the RNZAF

Care should be taken in using info in Foreman's books as little or no cross-checking of names appears to have taken place.

Errol,

Thank you for this information. I often find it difficult to know how reliable "facts" are in different books. Even the official histories includes some mistakes.
