What caused the death of following airmen killed on active service (Flight Global):

Sgt (Pilot) Kenneth ASHBY - 745699, buried Nuneaton (Oaston Road) Cem., Warwickshire (UK6937), and

Sgt (Pilot u/t) George T. FOLLOWS - 745098, buried Wyken (St.Mary Magdalene) Churchyard, Coventry, Warwickshire (UK6993), and

Sgt (Pilot u/t) Robert S.C. LAWSON - 754143, buried Cranfield (SS. Peter & Paul) Churchyard, Bedfordshire (UK3089), and

Sgt (Pilot u/t) John M. LEFEAUX - 754575 - whose name I can't find in The Times and Flight Global archives but buried same churchyard as Sgt LAWSON).

Suggested a/c write-offs for this day:

Harvard I - P5817 - 14 FTS - collided near Bozeat, Northamptonshire.

Oxford I - L9645 - RAF FC - flew into ground %BD mile S of South Rauceby, Lines.

Oxford I - N4638 - 14 FTS - collided near Bozeat (refer to Harvard P5817).

Regards and thanks for your help.

Henk.

Thanks Dave. Can we suppose that P5817 collided with N4638? Strange that Lawson and Lefeaux are buried same cemetery, although both in different aircraft.

Regards,

Henk.

Hi Henk

The Air Britain P Serial book has P5817 of 14 FTS colliding with N4638 near Bozeat,Northants. Air Britain normally don't record names of those involved.

Regards

Dick
