hello Henk,

From 615 Squadron ORB :

Clemson died of cerebro-spinal fever. Buried on 23rd.

Parfitt fell into a canal at night and drowned. Buried on 8th

Hotten at Bienvilliers : same as you, from No. 18 Squadron history (Air-Britain).

Correct spelling is Fouquières. I have No. 26 Squadron (Lysander IIIs) based at Bruay-la-Buissière, which is a couple of miles from this cemetery, so very likely the accidental death occured there. Fouquières extension is a WW1 cemetery, with two WW2 airmen. Abbeville too far, he would have been buried there.

No better than you have about Terlincthun casualties.

Joss

Hello Henk

For the above gent: 4 Sqn ORB (AIR 27/47)
"One more W/T Tender arrived and the driver reported that No. 119522 L.A.C. PAGE had been killed in an accident to his Motor-cycle."

There is no further reference to the incident, other than in details of movement order in the appendicies, AIR 27/51. These give his trade as D/Pet. (D/petrol?) and religion C. of E. (Church of England). The road party consisted of 50 vehicles including 4 B.S.A. motorcycles were embarked at Sothampton and landed at Brest.

Kind regards
Pierre

6. "Lock of No. 26 Squadron"
hello Henk,

I remembered I had checked No. 26 Squadron ORB, but was too busy to post earlier, due to commitments with dedication of a plaque for a Hurricane pilot (P/O J.B. SMILEY, discussed here earlier).

29th March 1940 - La Tricquerie

LAC LOCK died at No. 9 Casualty Clearing Station.

It doesn't help much, but perhaps a member of the board will be able to give further details about this kind of military field hospital.
