|Details: Andaman Dettachment. On the 18th the detachment was told to be on standby for evacuation. The airmen had stripped one of the aircraft down completely. The other Lysander was kept serviceable to be flown out on notice of the evacuation. However orders were received to evacuate everyone by ship. So the remaining Lysander was also stripped down and what remained of both aircraft was burnt. “D” Flight personnel reached Madras by ship five days later.|
