420411 - Unaccounted airman - 11-4-1942 - (ME/Med)Hudson III AE589 of OADU went missing on a ferry flight 11-4-1942 between Portreath, Cornwall and Gibraltar. Looking for the names of the crew and confirmation whether: Sgt David BALMER - 984604 - 6 (C)OTU ?? - commemorated on the Malta Memorial Panel 3 Column 2, was one (and only) casualty. 420411 - Unaccounted airmen - 11-4-1942What were the places of death registration for: A - Killed on active service: P/O (Pilot) James P. CONSIDINE - 112289 (RAF from USA). B - Died on active service: AC2 Ernest A. GREEN - 1528358 - age 37; LAC George D. HASTIE - 984768 - age 38, and AC1 (Flight: AC2) Ellwood D. RUDD - 1022093. C - Not found Flight archives: Sgt (Pilot) James S. ROBERTS - 659164. D - Also looking for unit and possible cause of death of the following airmen whose names are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial (probably Hudson AE589, see my thread on Sgt David BAMER ??): Sgt Glen M. FOOTNER - 1250025 - Panel 83; F/Sgt Robert J. HELSDON - 778387 - Panel 74, and Sgt Frederick G. STONER - 1282530 - Panel 94. E - Furthermore looking for the place of death registration for: S/Ldr Eward C. INGLEFIELD - 37738; P/O (Pilot) Charles J.R. BOYCE - 112002, and AC2 William GIBLIN - 1526080, of 4 Sqn (Clifton, Yorkshire), who probably were killed on DH Rapide Z7263 (ex. G-ADIM) whilst taking off from Doncaster, Yorkshire. F - Proposed aircraft losses: Botha I - W5134 - 6 FPP - crashed in forced landing Wright's Farm, S.Clarewood, Cumberland ??. 420411 - Unaccounted airman - 11-4-1942 - (ME/Med)RAF GRO confirms 6 (C) OTU on that airman. Same Flight list incldues the following missing men from that date: (names as scanned) **Sgt. D. Balmer malta Memorial RAF GRO gives him as 6 C OTU 8gt. F. Bonser; 214 Sqn Sgt. R. Brock buried Norway CWGC says 46 Sqn , RAF GRO Lists gives him as 48 Sqn. Perhaps a CWGC scanning error. I'll notify them. Sgt. R. F. Chisholm 48 Sqn Norway **Sgt. G. M. Footner Runnymede RAF GRO gives him as 6 C OTU Sgt. J. Hanna 53 Sqn **Sgt. R. J. Helsdon Runnymede RAF GRO gives him as "1 OA DU" F/O. A. N. McClintoclt 53 Sqn Sgt. J . B.Melvin; 53 Sqn Sgt, D. R. I . Morgan; 53 Sqn P/O. J . W. Murray; 214 Sqn Sgt. C. W. Pennv; 214 Sqn Sgt. D. Smith; 214 Sqn Germany Sgt. F. G.
