PARKER - RAAF, who was killed 12-10-1941 and his name commemorated on Column 246of the Alamein Memorial. Suppose having read in NAA file that he may have been of 3 RAAF Sqn and "Fired on and shot out of parachute". 3 RAAF Sqn lost this day Tomahawks IIB serials AK516, AK566 and AN355. 411011 - Unaccounted airmen - 11-10-1941 and 12-10-41This 3 squadron site provides these details, http://www.3squadron.org.au/indexpages/kia.htm Sergeant Thomas Dudley Parker, service number 402391, is recorded on the Alamein Memorial, Egypt. Column 246. Age 28. Son of Thomas Joseph and Lydia Parker, of Vaucluse, New South Wales, Australia. On 12/10/41 Leutnant Rudolf Sinner of I/JG27 shot Dudley Parker's Curtiss Tomahawk IIB AN355 out of a defensive circle in the Bir Sheferzen area; he baled out of his burning aircraft but bullets cut his parachute harness and he fell 4.000 feet.
