Details Flew into high ground in low cloud at Sarangue. [RCAF Cas File] Robertson's grave was located in an isolated position near Surangui village, Daman District, Goa sometime in April 1952. It was moved to Kirkee.. Vengeance AN679 pilotted by Robertson and Collingham was detaield with four others to fly from Kalyan to Karachi. The aircraft ook off at 1315 hours. One ac returned through hydraulic trouble immediately. Other four set course for Santua Cruz and them to Ahemdabad before refuelling for Karachi. The weather at this stage was doubtful with loc cloud. After one hour, two ac returned saying that the weather was too bad. Two and a half hours after take off Santa cruz rang up to say another ac had landed for same reason. The crew of this ac were the last to see th emissing aircraft before they got spereated in cloud. AN679 was seen to be headed into the sea. The ac was reproted by native witnesses to have crashed at Nova Goa and have burnt out. Both occupants being killed. Wreckage was widely scattered and only small fragments of human remains were recovered. Paybook of FO Robertson was salvaged. Detailed police reports exist.
