411125 - Unaccounted airmen - 25-11-1941Hello again, S/L Jack Henry 'Joe' Bachmann was from Norbury, Surrey, Enlisted in RAFVR in 1938/9. Commissioned 6-11-39. Joined 145 sqn at Drem on 20-8-40 and moved to Tangmere with them. He left 145 sqn on 2-6-41 as F/O for 5 RC at West Kirby. (Posting abroad?) Posted to 67 sqn at Alipore and MID on 11-6-42 as S/L. He was KIA on 9-4-43 while CO of 67 sqn at Chittagong when bounced by Oscar's of 64 th Sentai over Chittagong and shot down in Hurricane IIc, BN476 and killed, age 25. Could anyone please assist me with any postings and/or dates prior to 145 sqn in August,1940 and 67 sqn prior to June, 1942. Thanks, Roy ....Read More.Roy Nixon on 2nd February 2009 08:22:18
