224 Squadron Liberator FK242Thanks for that, I think you're right. AIR78 has a Sergeant Dennis Trevor Pass 1117299. I haven't yet made the definitive link but I think he probably was the sole survivor from FK242. There was a Dennis Trevor Pass born Grimsby, September 1922, which would have made him 20 at the time of the crash. Again, that sounds about right. ....Read More.Bob Jones on 11th February 2014 11:42:39

224 Squadron Liberator FK242Hello Tim, I was the chap who started this thread and I was sorry to hear the news about your grandfather. I have lived less than a mile from the site of the crash for over thirty years but knew nothing of the incident until two years ago. I visited the gateway at Fullamoor Farm last April and the plaque is still in place although weathered. A group of us have discussed replacing it and if you would like to send me a private message I'll give you some contact details. I have recently written a book about airctaft that came down on Dartmoor in WW2 and it is due to be published at Easter. The fate of Liberator FK242 is featured in it. If you like I can send you all the details I have. Of the six men that died in the crash, three are buried at Buckland Monachorum cemetery about three miles from the crash site. I think it is amazing your grandfather survived that night - what a joy he went on to live such a full life. Bob Jones ....Read More.Bob Jones on 18th February 2015 05:51:11
