Details 92S Swung on take-off and u/c torn off Kan. WO Black crashed on take off. The aircraft hit a bump and swung slightly. Owing to the fact that there were no markers the pilot was unable to correct quickly enough. The aircraft hit a mound at the side of the strip after narrowly missing an AA gun post. The undercarraige was torn off , the pilot was unhurt. The aircraft was then lying among a considerable amount of hay and shortly after the pilot got out, it caught fire. The fire tender on the scene owing to faulty maechanism coudl not pump Saporine but only water, this was not enough to extinguish the flames. A cable was slung around the tail and two trucks tried to pull the aircraft away from the hay. This only resulted in the tail being torn ffrom the fuselage and further efforts were stopped as there was danger of petrol tanks exploding. Shortly afterwards the STrip was put US by the CO.. TO time was 1230 Hrs
