Anson 148 Sqn K5024 loss 18 Jan 1940How about Meaker and Ambrose being the second crew in Demon K8196 that "may have" collided with Demon K5736 on 24/02/1940 ? Demon K5736 "This aircraft was destroyed when it crashed whilst on an air firing exercise. Pilot P/O WB Hunter (Canadian) killed, A/P/O GW Winder injured, but died the following day." "This aircraft was damaged in an unspecified accident on this date, not recorded in the unit's ORB and no mid-air collision is mentioned in relation to Demon K5736." The dates fit.. The fact no crew found for K8196 is interesting K5736 of 3 BGS (two killed) and K8196 of 1 AAS, no mention of casualties Anyone have a crew for K8196 ....Read More.paulmcmillan on 21st February 2017 01:06:47
