Details Reported missing following a strafing attack on railway line between YWADAW and PYINMANA. 1345-1528 Hours. While strafing, on second run, hit some trees, damaging both mainplanes bending up the bottom of the cowling so as almost completely to close the airscoop, and ripping off the starboard tailplane flush with the fuselage. He gained height only to 100 feet and on his leaders instructions headed north. After three minutes, he reported that his windscreen was covered with oil and his oil temperature was going off the clock. The aircraft crash landed in falmes in a field just west of the railway about three miles S of SHWEMYO. He clambered out and immediately bandaged both arms upto the shoulder, which suggests he sustained burns in both arms. The aircraft burnt out completely and he started to walk northwards along a chaung. The third section then came on the scene and saw him amking his way towards a group of buildings half a mile to the north. Although they dived low on hi, he took no notice and it is probable that he was dazed and suffering from shock. As our troops were only 12 miles to the north, the chances of rescuing himm seemed favourable. Although the army was advised and they pushed to the area, nothing further was heard.. Reported as KJ192 by Air Britain. Recorded in ORB as KJ255
