Details Engine cut, belly landed near Palel - Bishnupur in a paddy field . 12 Hurricanes airborne at 1618hrs to strike Jap Bunker Positions by MAWKU CHAUNGHI track (RP885355). A good concentration of bombs fell on target. Sgt Taylor had to jesttison his bombs on the way out due to engine trouble. He force landed and was uninjured. He was able to hitch hike back to base the same evening. F541: Sortie 1618-1746. Sgt RA TAylor KW897, on way out over WANGJING reported a rough engine. Shortly after it cut completely and he was forced to make a belly landing. He jettisioned bombs safe and forcelanded in a cultivated paddy without injury to himself. As he was still in the valley, he was able to hitchike a ride to base, returning that night.
