Aircraft Losses (Hainaut, Belgium)I am working behind the scenes with a number of people to prepare a booklet for a memorial event which is being held next month at Chievres Communal Cemetery and wondered if anyone specialises in losses in the Hainaut area. There are 58 airmen buried in the cemetery from the following losses: 01. 25/08/1941: No. 35 Squadron Halifax L9572 (7) 02. 10/03/1943: No. 77 Squadron Halifax DT734 (1) 03. 16/04/1943: No. 61 Squadron Lancaster W4317 (8) 04. 14/07/1943: No. 466 Squadron Wellington LN288 (5) 05. 11/08/1943: No. 77 Squadron Halifax JD167 (7) 06. 19/11/1943: No. 75 Squadron Stirling LJ442 (4) 07. 02/01/1944: No. 156 Squadron Lancaster ND384 (7) 08. 09/05/1944: No. 405 Squadron Lancaster ND587 (7) 09. 09/05/1944: No. 405 Squadron Lancaster ND347 (1) 10. 09/05/1944: No. 35 Squadron Lancaster ME620 (6) 11. 19/07/1944: No. 75 Squadron Lancaster LL921 (1) 12. 13/08/1944: No. 578 Squadron Lancaster LW383 (4) I can access information from the usual online sources and documents such as the loss cards, ORBs etc, but if anyone has any detailed research on these losses or has photographs of the crews / airmen which are not online, please get in touch. I am working to a deadline for completion by 19th October, so any help would be much appreciated Regards Pete ....Read More.PeteT on 5th October 2018 04:18:09
