The pilot was not seen to bale out.. Bunker targets at EYAUNGGLEBIN attacked. During the attack pilot failed to pull out of his boming dive and crashed into the ground yards from teh target. The aircraft was seen to break up and catch fire. 1510-1610Hrs

Hurricane IIC LE643 'K' Was engaged in the day bombing of enemy targets at Nyaunglebin, Burma. The aircraft failed to pull out of a dive and was seen to hit the ground and burst into flames, position 21.50N 95.35E. The pilot was not seen to bale out. AUS420063 P/O James Colin SAISELL RAAF + Saisell was originally buried in Mandalay Military Cemetery, Burma. Gr. 2.B.21. Later reinterred Taukkyan War Cemetery, Rangoon, Burma.
