Aircraftmans 2nd Class 617586 John Murphy - Killed 1939?See: "Previously shown as Missing, now reported Died before Commencement of Hostilities". He is not listed on the CWGC either (as technically he was not a war casualty). " [url][/url] I think he was 4th crewman on HUDSON N7248 of 224Sqn crashed in sea off Norwegian coast on 31st Aug 1939 It has been reported than crew were Fg Off Andrew George Henry Bell killed #36088. Sgt Stuart Norman Saunders (22) killed #590825. AC1 Frank Schofield killed #525984. Plus " AC1 Alexander Bathgate 567441" Bathgate is in error he was killed on 30/09/39 in Hudson I N7216 224 Sqn [url][/url] Therefore I surmise that Aircraftman 2nd Class 617586 John Murphy was the 4th member of the crew of HUDSON N7248 on 31st Aug 1939 617586 John Murphy Confirmed on Air 78 ....Read More.paulmcmillan on 23rd May 2017 06:45:36
