Takoradi September 1940Brian/Amrit, Have tentatively identified the first six Hurricanes, as: P2638, P2639, P2640, P2641, P2643 & P2651. All delivered to the Middle East, via Takoradi, September 1940. Hawkins (N5765), Flying Officer Anthony Ives Hostage Lynch (N5764), and Sergeant Roy Leslie Green (L9043) accompanied by Flying Officer Peter Guy Wykeham-Barnes (Hurricane Mk.I P2639) of 80 Squadron and two Blenheim IFs from 30 Squadron took off from Mersa Matruh to patrol between Bug Bug and Sollum.
