Location of crash site of Spitfire P8654Good Morning I am trying to locate the crash site of Spitfire P8654 of No. 609 Squadron. According to the Squadron ORB the Spitfire, piloted by Sgt. Guy Alexander Chestnut flew into cliffs near Ramsgate, Kent at 1705 hours on 11 June 1941. Any help with a more accurate location of the crash site will be much appreciated. Crash site of Spitfire P8654 PR-LGood Morning Everyone Can anyone please help regarding the crash site of Spitfire P8654 PR-L. On 11 June 1941, whilst returning damaged by enemy fire from a Roadstead in the Dunkirk area, Spitfire P8654 PR-L of No. 609 Squadron flown by Sgt. Guy Alexander Chestnut, crashed on the cliff edge at Broadstairs, Kent. Some sources say Ramsgate. I am trying to determine a more precise location for the crash. Any help will be much appreciated.
