R3292 Sgt Vodra Terrel Wolfe (USA) RCAF pilot (K)
Aircraft was low flying when it dived into a cottage killing the occupant at Kingsfield House, Penton, Cumberland

| Wellington IC R3292 looking for information | This is my first time posting so apologies if I'm in the wrong place!
I'm looking for information on Wellington R3292 lost on 30th September/1st October 1940. I'm not sure if the crash site is known, although 3 crew members of the 6 seem to have been recovered, but my uncle unfortunately wasn't one of them.

| Wellington IC R3292 looking for information | Hi,
Wellington R3292 115 Sqn crashed between Devern (Badbergen) and Grothe. This Wellington was shot down near where 38 Sqn R3219 was shot down which crashed at Quakenbruck. Theo Boiten book Nachtjagd Combat Archives states that these two aircraft were either shot down by Oblt Werner Streib of 2./NJG1 for his 6th victory, or Oblt Heinrich Griese of 2./NJG1 for his 2nd victory. Both claimed a Wellington shot down that crashed in the same area.
