WWII W/O Ian Castles Powell (1313994) d. 5 Jan 1945Hello Tom, l can tell you that 187809 P/O George ASHURST and 185353 P/O Kenneth Arthur Henry BIGGS were members of No.54 Sqn RAF. Both airmen helped defend the North-western Area of Australia (Darwin etc). Prior to leaving for Australia, the then Sgt ASHURST, was involved in the following incident: 27 August 1941 No.54 Sqn Spitfire V R7273 Circus 86 Baled out over the sea and rescued. 1053448 Sgt George ASHURST - wounded.
