|Blenheim I L8673 18 Oct 1939 Confirmation Crew Details Bomber Losses Middle East Vol1||Success
Thanks to David Gunby who put me in touch with Pel Temple, who supplied the info he used to comprise day bomber losses for Middle East Volume 1. Pel confirmed his source as AHB, but importantly supplied the Service Numbers used
40938 Nicolson, Ralph Holden. Pilot. MiD, Killed later in the war in 55 Sqn RAF, Blenheim
527004 LAC Bartram, Charles Herbert, Obs, Later Killed in Blenheim, T1879.
532904 AC1 J Rown, AG.
538134 AC1 T.R. Sherr. WOp/AG.
Searching Air 78 for 532904 AC1 J Rown, (who I believed to be actually "J Brown") brought up AC1 James Brown 532904
Searching Air 78 for 538134 AC1 T.R. Sherr (who I believed to be actually Cherry) brought up "Philip Douglas Cherry" 538034 (which is near enough for me especially as you find out he got DFM while with No. 55 Squadron 22nd August, 1941 and no 'R' Cherry came close to 538134 and a written P may be look like an R in some handwriting!
BTW My "J Brown" and "R" Cherry came from an Irvin parachute list so I was happy with that ....Read More.||paulmcmillan on 19th August 2013 05:52:41|
