Air Britain Serials Query - "T2962", possibly?Hi all Is there / does anyone have please an Air Britain Serials book covering "T" serials? If so, can someone please tell me what it might say for "T2962"? Having trouble deciphering an ORB serial entry. Could T2962 have been a 311 (Czech) Sqn Wellington Ic that was shot up by a night fighter and crash landed back at East Wretham on 29/3/1942 (P/O Bala)? And info gratefully received. Thanks Ian ....Read More.ianh on 23rd January 2009 04:35:17

Air Britain Serials Query - "T2962", possibly?T2962 Wellington Mk.Ic 57/311/21 OTU Engine cut, hit tree in forced landing, Llangrove,, Monmouth 7.7.42 DBF So it certainly would fit, depending upon the damage in the crashlanding. I can't find other 311 a/c in the same batch that were written off on that date ....Read More.Graham Boak on 23rd January 2009 05:16:26
Air Britain Serials Query - "T2962", possibly? Thanks chaps. Looks like that's it. The ORB simply gives the serial's numbers (a bit faint but I'm pretty sure it says "2962" plus the a/c code letter (which happens to be "T" as well). I can try to look back in the ORB when next at Kew but it looks likely it was T2962. Another one off the list. Cheers Ian ....Read More.ianh on 24th January 2009 01:37:10

RAF Aircraft Serial Number Look Up toolUpdated the serial database tool with a couple of new features. typing http://www.rafcommands.com/database/serials/ wil bring up the page for that aircraft. It will also search the AIR81 Database the SEAC Losses DB, and the Forum Posts for any posts made on that aircraft. and display all the information in one page. Some examples: [URL]http://www.rafcommands.com/database/serials/R4112[/URL] [URL]http://www.rafcommands.com/database/serials/T2962[/URL] [URL]http://www.rafcommands.com/database/serials/W5433[/URL] Sometimes you may not find anything but luck out on a photograph [URL]http://www.rafcommands.com/database/serials/JG253[/URL] Added a new bbcode to the forum. If you are typing a serial number in the post - just enclose it in [serial ] and [ /serial] tags (Without spaces) and it will enable the link to the serials page - where you will find ALL posts on the forum with that serial number . eg: [CODE]Vengeance [serial ]AN687[/serial ] was lost in Burma[/CODE] would render as : Vengeance [serial]AN687[/serial] was lost in Burma (Serial number hyperlinked - takes you to the page that shows this very post in the search... ....Read More.Jagan on 6th September 2018 09:40:04
