|410912 - Unaccounted airwoman and airmen - 12-9-1941||6 EFTS ORB : Sywell
12/9/41 70081 F/Lt G Bemridge AFC Flying Instructor, and 1139401 LAC Lavan B W pupil, were killed in a flying accident. Tiger Moth T6432, in which they were gliding in to land, was struck by an Oxford aircraft V3980, belonging to 15 SFTS which was on a cross country flight. Both a/c dived into the ground from a height of 600 feet. The two occupants of the Oxford were also killed.
15/9/41 LAC Lavan buried at Sywell churchyard with full Service Honours.
16/9/41 F/Lt Bemridge buried at Sywell churchyard with full Service Honours.
