218 Squadron HelpHi Henk I hadn't checked Warner's Blenheim but I now see that it does say V5992 (page 580). However, Shores does say V5592. I've found V5592 being lost on May 26 1941 whilst with 45 Squadron on a raid on Maleme Airfield (page 453 of Warner). But what is interesting is that the crew list and reasons for loss are at odds with the details in this article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/ww2peopleswar/stories/71/a4196171.shtml Warner states the crew were: F/O T Churcher (pilot) POW P/O R May (obs) POW Sgt H Langrish (WOp?AG) Evaded and evacuated The above article states: V5592, escaped only to get lost in the desert on its return, and finally crashed. PltOff. Robinson, J.Pilot. Sgt. Crosby, A.E. Wo/Ag. Rescued after walking for four days. Sgt. Longstaff, W.B. Obs. Never seen again. However, Warner states that that was the crew of T2350. Anyway, as to Ault's aircraft it maybe just a typo in Bloody Shambles. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. cheers A ....Read More.Amrit on 31st January 2008 05:57:42
