|Presentation names on Hawker Hurricane?||I would like please if anyone can confirm some queries regarding Gifts of War and presentation Hawker
Hurricane serials that I have regarding the following.
I think the AB Z serials book listed initially Z3586, Z3587 & Z3588 as 'British Liberty', 'British Triumph' and
'British Fame' however Gifts of War lists Z3596, Z3597 & Z3598 for these so just like to confirm which is correct please.
I have V7607 as named 'Hyderabad City' serving with 257 Squadron however Gifts of War lists this particular name as being allocated to Hurricanes with 253 (Hyderabad) Squadron can this be confirmed as serving with 257 Squadron or 253? also it mentions the name as also carried on Z3171 as seen in photos as 'SW-P' with 253 Squadron.
The book also mentions Z2815 as being 'Loughborough' and also the same serial as 'Garfield Weston 1' again which of these is correct and if so what is the serial of the other?.
Also did Z2703 carry the name 'Borough of Croydon' or just 'Croydon' or as the book mentions just the coat of arms?.
Also can anyone confirm Z3496 & Z3497 as 'Aden III' & 'Aden IV' or again the book mentions possibly these as Z3504 & Z3503.
BP381 or BP387 for 'Baluchistan 1'
BP433 'S.R.C.B. No.1' or is it 'S.R.C.D. No.1' as mentioned in Gifts of War
Any help with any of these appreciated ....Read More.||Autogiro on 5th March 2018 10:55:31|
