Martin, "Bert" Houle mentions (on p.29):
"We had just arrived back from leave when we were sent in groups all over England and Scotland to pick up new Hurricane IIs and deliver them to Abbotsinch, near Glasgow. I was sent down to Aston Downs in Wales and detailed to lead two sergeants, Lee* and Finlay. Both of these boys were killed shortly after that. There were 64 [sic]of us in "Operation Scarlet". One* got lost on the way to Abbotsinch and was interned in Southern Ireland."
* Obviously, 21/8/1941 - Hurricane IIB Z5070, which force-landed at Athboy, Meath (R66043 Sgt Roswell Frank TEES RCAF - OK - Interned).
