Whitley Z6978, 78 Sqn - individual letter?A further query, if anyone can help. I'm after the code letter for Whitley Z6872, which crash landed at Middleton-St-George on the evening of August 27th 1941, returning from bombing Bruges (the alternate target - the main target was Mannheim). The rear gunner of Z6978, Sgt James Davidson 1113649, was also involved in this accident.
