|No.244 Sqn loss - 5-5-1941||Hello, In Dust Clouds In The Middle East, Chris Shores mentions the following: 5-5-1941 To the south, a Vincent of 244 Squadron was forced to land in the sea in the darkness. The pilot was later picked up, but both the air gunner and a passenger were lost. See: Dust Clouds In The Middle East. Shores,Christopher. London:Grub Street,1996 p.176 I have a note that Vincent I K6347, of 244 Sqn, crashed in the Persian Gulf around this time. I believe the following crew/pass were lost: 637578 Sgt (Air Gnr.) Charles Trevor DENNETT RAF + G/C Robert JOPE-SLADE OBE,DSC RAF + (Both listed in Flight June 19, 1941, as KOAS). Could someone confirm the above, and provide the pilot's name?
