Paul
His death was included in the BMD announcements in the Portsmouth Evening News of November 4th 1943.
SLADE - at Hayward's Heath, on October 30th, Edwin Robert, Sergeant, R.A.F., third son of Charles and Beatrice Slade, aged 32.
The date doesn't tally with the CWGC entry, but it's 100% him. I'm not sure if it means anything, but it was listed in the 'regular' Deaths, not in the 'Roll of Honour' on the same page. A post-discharge death, maybe?
Regards
Simon
