Remember the collision over Burma? Z7648 and Z9667 on April 5th, 1943. Well my relative was killed in that accident (F/Sgt G. A. Foster). I was wondering if you could supply me some more information, thats all.

My name is Michael CLOSE and I am the Membership Secretary of the Royal Air Forces Association Île-de-France Branch near Paris.
I am currently trying to assist the Chairman of the Association AM FAFL in searching for information concerning aviators who were lost at sea during WW2. He particularly asked me to confirm the source of the information that you provided to Michel LATOURAILLE concerning Jacques HAZARD on the RAF Commands Forum.
The reason for our research is that next year a monument to persons (Air Force and Civilians) missing at sea during WW2, will be erected on the Channel coast at Le Tréport, Normandy and visitors will be able to access historical information directly from a Web site through their “Smartphones” by copying the code beside the name of the missing person; hence the need for us to quote the sources of the information provided.

Lately, i am interested on the plane that crashed in Lake near ambarawa. as i doing research on this perticular plane, i stumbled upon your reply. i found thar your reply on the post i mention above is well informed and detailed. could you please enlighten me on which source it mentioned?

btw, in my native language resources (indonesian), i can only found that the plane crashed down the lake and now is still hidden beneath the lake. as you mention the coordinate, i convert it on google maps and its about 7km east of rawa pening lake

Dear Col, (not quite sure how to address you or post a message?!) I wonder if you have any information regarding my Grandfather, Warrant Officer A. R. Chapman RAF No. 1290786, who was a rear air gunner? I believe that his plane ditched into the Bay of Biscay (Squadron 77?) in 1940 and that he and his crew were picked up by a French trawler and handed over to the Germans. He then spent a few years in Stalag Viiib, Camp 344, POW No. 26830. Regards, Victoria

COMFORT, William Simpson Flight Sergeant RAF No.1342606 and ROBARTS, Eugene Lieutenant SAAF No.206857V.
Eugene Robarts was my Grandfather. My mother (who was born 2 month before Eugene was killed) still has his photo album with pictures of aeroplanes, men in uniform, his logbooks and a few other things.

The story relayed by Comfort matches a letter written to my Grandmother regarding the incident (which is also in the box).
