Rene, My name is Jenny Crane and Flying Officer Robert K. Lamb, navigator of 103 Squadron, was my maternal uncle. I never met him as he was killed before I was born, as was his brother Alec. I was very touched to find out that the villagers had set up a memorial to the crew. Unfortunately, I do not have a photo of him, although I did see one of him when I was a child but, unfortunately, over the years it has disappeared. regards, Jenny Crane
Hi Rene - I picked up on your thread re a 166 Sqn crew member - I'm currentl researching Sgt Leslie Lewis ( called Mick) of 166 Sqn who was shot down - evaded capture and went on to fly Ops against the Japanese ! I'm reading Massacre over the Marne at the moment. I wondered if there is any further info on him ? kind regards Bob ( hale.family1@btinternet.com )
Good Morning Rene, It has been quite a long time since we communicated. You were so very kind to forward me a photo of my brother Sgt Albert Peter Bates and his crew, from the book 'On The Wings Of War' That was in October 2005. Unfortunately, I was never able to obtain a copy of that book. However, my question for you now is :I would very much like to find any next of kin of his crew . How do you go about finding living family members ? I see that you are very much involved in research, that is wonderful and I wish you much success. Have you completed your book yet ? Wishing you all the very best, Kindest regards, Margaret Simpson (California)
