Hi Rene,

I just saw an old 166 Squadron thread where you mentioned having the Log Book of Pilot F/O DeFraigne. I Have the medals of the F/Sgt John Ward Inman in my possession who was on NG114 as the Mid Upper Gunner when it crashed. Does any of your research regarding DeFreigne mention Inman, and do you happen to have any more details regarding the crash of that aircraft? I have done a write up on Inman and I'd love to compare notes with your research if possible.

My name is Jenny Crane and Flying Officer Robert K. Lamb, navigator of 103 Squadron, was my maternal uncle.
I never met him as he was killed before I was born, as was his brother Alec. I was very touched to find out
that the villagers had set up a memorial to the crew. Unfortunately, I do not have a photo of him, although I
did see one of him when I was a child but, unfortunately, over the years it has disappeared.

Hi Rene - I picked up on your thread re a 166 Sqn crew member - I'm currentl researching Sgt Leslie Lewis ( called Mick) of 166 Sqn who was shot down - evaded capture and went on to fly Ops against the Japanese ! I'm reading Massacre over the Marne at the moment. I wondered if there is any further info on him ? kind regards Bob ( hale.family1@btinternet.com )

It has been quite a long time since we communicated. You were so very kind to forward me a photo of my brother Sgt Albert Peter Bates and his crew, from the book 'On The Wings Of War' That was in October 2005.

Unfortunately, I was never able to obtain a copy of that book.

However, my question for you now is :I would very much like to find any next of kin of his crew . How do you go about finding living family members ?

I see that you are very much involved in research, that is wonderful and I wish you much success. Have you completed your book yet ?
