    Dear David

I noticed your comment on the RAF Commands forum, regarding 619 Squadron, and the book by Steve Rew. It is mentioned in '619: The History of a Forgotten Squadron' by Bryan Clark, although only available within the squadron Association. Upon 619's formation, they were sent a couple of Lancs from 617 Squadron, and according to Rew, were in a very poor state. I am researching these Lancasters, and two sent over a week or so later, and am interested in what Rew says about them.

I wonder, would it be possible for you to somehow let me know what the Rew book contains? Either a scan of the relevant page/s, or if not, an account? They were the first 4 aircraft (although I think only 3 are mentioned), only remaining on the squadron for a couple of weeks.

I hope you dont mind my asking, but Ive not seen the book myself, outside the megre extracts in Bryans book.

Thanks for your time, I look forward to hearing from you

    Kind regards

    Alex Bateman
