4 Gp ORB Terminology for Ops
Hello All,
In reviewing the 4 Group ORB for the period May 44 - Aug 45, I note that when Ops were not on for the day it was detailed as either, "No Ops Ordered", “No Ops Detailed" or "Ops Cancelled".
I was wondering if there was a distinction between the first two terms, with the possibility of:
"No Ops Ordered" being no Ops at all that day within Bomber Command; and,
"No Ops Detailed" meaning that Ops were on in Bomber Command, but none were detailed to 4 Group?
Or were the two terms completely interchangeable.

Re: 4 Gp ORB Terminology for Ops
Hi Mike
My guess would be like yours: 'No ops ordered' = none by BC whereas 'No ops detailed' = 4 Gp not involved.
'Bomber Command War Diaries' might confirm if you look up some of the days in question and see if it says who, if anyone, was on ops on those days.

Thanks Ian, that is a great suggestion. I will do that.
