I can't help with cause of death, but it seems that there is some variation in his name. Born in Italy as Guiseppe Giovanni Delchin, by Feb 1930 he was known as Joseph John Delkin, and the same when married in 1938. His Death Notice however is clearly John Josef Delkin as informed by his wife, so he may have changed the usage of his names. This may help others to track him down.
