N/E/S is Non Effective Sick
Eddie
Base Personnel Centre, which I understand was also referred to as BPD (D for Depot) at times.
Cheers
Steve
Just a small point, but N/E/S (or N.E.S.) usually meant "Non-effective strength", although "Sickness" or "Injury" or some other distinction often appeared after these initials. Usually "N.E.S." personnel were held on Station rather than Unit (as Squadron or School) strength, although they could physically be in Station Sick Quarters (SSQ), a nearby civilian hospital, or even on sick leave (at home perhaps!).
