RAF Station Duxford in June 1941
Hi all, I am interested in following information about RAF Station Duxford in June 1941:
1. who was the station CO? Malcom has on his website "Wg Cdr A B Woodhall" for this period but without any particular dates.
2. which two squadrons were based there? i know one was our 310 Sq but I am not able to identify the second one.
TIA
Pavel
Re: RAF Station Duxford in June 1941
Hi Pavel
According to RAF Unit Histories, although I note there is a question mark about the 'To' date...
https://www.unithistories.com/office...icers_W01.html
03.1940 to 04.1941?
Commanding Officer, RAF Duxford [08.1940 reported as radar controller, Duxford Sector (Kent), No. 12 Group, Fighter Command, RAF]
Then 28.04.1941 to 01.1942
Commanding Officer, RAF Tangmere

Re: RAF Station Duxford in June 1941
Franek, thank you for pinting out! I had no knowledge he has written a book!
Colin - thank you very much for your complex answer!
So G/Cpt Vasse is my man.
The reason why I was asking about the squadrons is that I have seen a letter by Duxford CO dated 10.6.1941 where he stated "both Squadrons at this station" but only 310 Sq fit into this date...
Anyway thank you both once more
Pavel
