Frank Ashton Bowyer an RAF mechanic was the driver of a motor cycle that was in collision with a bus 4 miles from Chester on 1st Sept 1939. He subsequently died but his passenger Thomas Ernest Jones a RAF Flight Mechanic survived and gave evidence at Inquest from a stretcher. I assume as he died 2 days later in hospital and as a result qualified for inclusion in CWCG list

Hello
Aircraftman 2nd Class Arthur McCLEERY (632999) - his unit is recorded as 5 A.O.S. on the Grave Registration Report form. His headstone records that he was 'accidentally killed on active service' - see:

Simon thanks for that
I have debated with myself if "Accidentally killed on active service" was good enough to consider him "Accounted for" and decided against it. at a very minimum, i guess we need to know what type of accident it is? Road Accident, fall accident,
