CWGC has agreed to amend their records and also order a new headstone to mark the change in name. A copy of his original RAF Service Record, GAzette Entries and finally contact directly from DUTTA's son helped seal the case.
EDIT: Corrected Name now visible https://www.cwgc.org/find-records/fi...tails/2777397/

Sgt Alan Doughty Shuckburgh of 603 Squadron RAF had a twin brother P/O John Shirley Shuckburgh of 54 Squadron RAF. There appears to be an anomaly regarding these pilot brothers is that this RAF commands CWGC website shows Alan Doughty Shuckburgh as service number 904834. However, 904834 John Shirley Shuckburgh was promoted pilot office on probation on 15th January 1941, gazetted 24 March the 1941 and subsequently the London Gazette 2nd May 1941 shows Sgt J S Shuckburgh as 904834 promoted pilot office on probation (62251) to correct a misspelt surname. Again an error because future gazette enties show his service number as 62241. Is their an error on CWGC records or were there errors in gazetting John Shirley Shuckburgh?
I think LG is in error. This link https://www.forces-war-records.co.uk...tryAward=False shows that J S Shuckburgh is 904331 and AD is 940834. The data is based on AIR78 index and I am sure you will find a manual verification of AIR78 will confirm this.

Brimble there is a peculiar case. The Brookwood burial is related to remains discovered in 1980 by people excavating a wreck no 14 Sep 1980, whereas the Sittingbourne burial has an Unknown burial given a name at a later date.
Brookwood burial is dated 16 Oct 1980 but a concentration report there has a 17 Oct 1918 exhumation report mentioned.
Both burials records refer to one another.
Jagan, just wondering are you submitting these to CWGC nowadays, I have terribly slacked off due to a WW1 project I've been trying to finish this year.
Hi Dennis, Sorry, I havent submitted any records - I only did the R C Dutta submission till date. Again, no pressure or hurry - at some point we can catch up on this.
I submitted Rowlands there, its clear enough the error from their own records and I was able to send them Form 765 and 412 from the Canadian mans S/R.
