Thanks Amrit for this valuable tip.
Henk.
I've just discovered a method of searching for a particular casualty on Flight Magazine that seems to work very well (apologies for anyone who already knows this).
Taking a random example:
Robert Pursey Short (which Peter asked about a couple of months ago).
R P Short gave me the usual 100 returns.
However R.P.Short - note the fullstops and the lack of spaces - took me straight away to the May 1943 edition, and was the only return.
It has worked almost everytime so far. I hope this helps others, especially Henk :-)

BTW Short is reported as having Died on Active Service
Thanks Amrit for this valuable tip.
Henk.
As at this date (26.06.08) things seemed to have changed a little - see http://www.rafcommands.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2074
The best way to obtain a hit on a specfic name is as follows:
For Robert Pursey Short enter R. P. Short (note capitals, full-stops and spacing).

I found this by 'Googling':
http://www.rafcommands.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-314.html
RAF officer deaths 1.1.29-3.9.39
Flt Lt Salmon K D Kenneth Darleigh Killed 5 Oct 38
then I registered here and could not find that thread. So I went to the old site:

and tried to log in but got an error message:

Anyway, the details do not agree with this:

R.A.F Pilot Killed
Flight Lieutenant Kenneth Darleigh Salmon lost his life in an accident which occrred at
Farnham, Surrey, yesterday to a machine from the Royal Aircraft Establishment, South
Farnborough, Hants. He was the sole occupant of the machine. The pilot's parachute
which was open, had apparently caught in the fuselage of the machine and it is thought
that he may have attempted to jump out.
Mr. Gerald Hurley of Brunce's Farm, who witnessed the crash, said the machine
suddenly went into a spin. It missed farm buildings and then struck a high-tension
cable smashing the pole into three pieces.
