Default 1549818 James Hopwood, RAFVR 179 Squadron, died 26th June 1943

I recently posted for CWG burials in Swinton Cemetery, Manchester which I have been researching.

Now need help with several burials in Agecroft Cemetery, Salford, Manchester, will post seperate for each man.

I am trying to establish the circumstances and place of death of each man.

    1549818 James Hopwood, 179 Squadron, died 26th June 1943. Age 32.

Death likely registered in Barnstaple Devonshire.

Son of William and Mary of Salford, the husband of Lilian of Whitefield.

    Regards,
    Sue.

We mentioned him some time back on this old thread,.

    http://www.rafcommands.com/forum/showthread.php?9299-430626-Unaccounted-airwoman-and-airmen-27-6-1943

Listed as Died on Active service so a death from natural causes, non aircraft related accident as such.

There was a query on the Squadron number mentioned as it was then based in Gibralter.
