Default Fighter Activity December 5th 1944

    Gents

No.3 Group RAF Bomber Command attacked the marshalling yards at Hamm on this date. Reports record that German single engine fighters opposed this operation, can anyone confirm this and what units were involved.

    TIA

    Hi Steve,

You might have more luck posting your query here: http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/forumdisplay.php?f=8

At least one RAF fighter sqn-91-engaged Bf 109s, claiming three dest & one dam, for the loss of F/O Ken Collier (RAAF). Apparently 91 Sqn sighted two boxes of mixed Bf 109s & FW 190s at 18,000 feet before the engagement.

    Cheers,

    Bruce
