    Default RAAF ORBs

Can anyone advise me on how to get ORBs of WW2 RAAF squadrons? I've checked the NA website and there don't seem to be any there, so i'm guessing that possibly the AWM or somewhere similar in Australia might be the place to check?

Rather predictably, i'm trying to obtain the ORB for 100 Squadron RAAF, which included amongst it's number of ex-100 Squadron RAF men who had made good their escape from Singapore in early 1942.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, i'd be very grateful.

    TIA,

    L/O

    Default RAAF records

    Greg

I have http://naa12.naa.gov.au/scripts asp and this is how I found the following 453 Squadron information.

No 453 Squadron - Move of Squadron Overseas and in France

Series number A11335 Control symbol 106/1/ORG Contents date range
    1944 - 1944

Access status Open Location Canberra Barcode no 272442

Now you might not get what you want from your search, but I managed to find the 125 Wing convoy details through this search and located the lorry that my father travelled in from Ford to Husum via Copenhagen!!!

Yet I can't get this information over here !!!

    cheers

    Greg,

If you enter the three keywords "operations" "raaf" "squadron" (without the rabbit-ears of course) 314 records are produced, many of them already digitised for on-line viewing.

Click on the sort order radio button "digitized images first" at the top of the record set.
