Default Squadron Leader N A Kynaston.

I've just come into posession of of a newspaper cutting and studio photograph of the above named airman. A quick dig around means I know about his pre war Aero Club certificate and I know a bit about his time with 91 Squadron and have the citations for his DFC & Bar.

What I would like is anything on his career from enlistment in September 1939 until his posting to 91 in November 1942.

Any information would, as always, be gratefully received.

    Regards,

    Kevin Mears

Hi Kevin, i'd also be interested in a little information on his pre-91 Squadron service too. All i can add is that he belly landed Miles Master T8663 on the 5th June 1941 while serving as an instructor at 5 SFTS, Tern Hill.

Hopefully someone else can add further details to his service?

    Cheers,

    Tom

    Hello

His bio in "Aces High" starts when he joined No. 91 Squadron in November 1942, becoming "A" flight commander.

"Aces High volume 2" adds some details. Born in 1914 in Hereford, he subsequently lived in Chester. He enlisted in 1939 and was commissioned in 1940.

Not in "Men of the Battle of Britain".

Sorry gentlemen for the late reply. Thank you all for your comments. Perhaps Tom might be interested in a copy of the photo of Squadron Leader Kynaston and also of Wren's handling an Oxford at Hinstock which we discussed some time ago?

    Regards,

    Kevin Mears
